Mr. Allan Harold Toms, 78, of Jefferson, died Thursday, February 12, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of Jeanette (Stearns) Toms. Born May 23, 1936, in Point of Rocks, he was the son of the late Alvie Edward and Mollie Leona (Harne) Toms. Allan served in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1959. He retired from the Montgomery County Police Department. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Alvie Edward Toms and Kenneth Allan Toms, siblings, Edward Toms, Evelyn Goff and Kenneth Toms and wife Nancy. The family will receive friends from 10 am to 12 noon, on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will immediately follow at 12 noon. Rev. Edward Hartman will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Bethel UMC Cemetery, Foxsville, MD.
