Mrs. Lillian Frances Staub Claggett Mock, age 87, formerly of Myersville, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife for 42 years of the late Charles William Mock who passed away on August 24, 2009. Born on September 18, 1927 in Utica, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Luther James and Sarah Elizabeth (Baugher) Staub. Mrs. Mock was a longtime member of the South End Baptist Church. She served the church as a Sunday school teacher and was also a Gideon. She worked during her life as a nurse, a homecare specialist, a farm wife, and a homemaker raising seven children. She was employed at one time at College View, Frederick. She was also a foster parent. In her free time, Mrs. Mock enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, other puzzles and also played Mrs. Claus during the Christmas season. Lastly she loved her dogs named Sammy, Cisco, Harley and her cat Ellie May. Mrs. Mock was the mother of Sarah Jane Holt and husband Charles of Thurmont, Luther James Claggett of Pullman, Michigan, Aubrey Albert Claggett and wife Clara of Williamsport, Larry Leon Claggett of Frederick, Beatrice Kaye Brice of Adamstown, Charles (Jake) Claggett, Sr. and wife Goldie of Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, and John Louis Claggett and wife Leslie of Tuscon, Arizona. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and one sister, Evelyn Ross. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her two sisters, Edna Newcomer and Elsie Abrecht, and her four brothers, Sam Staub, Luther Staub and twin brothers William and James Staub, her son-in-law Leonard Brice and daughter-in-law Doris Claggett. Friends will be received on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701 and on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 10 to 11 am at the South End Baptist Church, 506 Carrollton Dr., Frederick, MD 21701 where services will begin at 11 am. Rev. J. Kenneth Stalls will officiate. The burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Mock's name to the South End Baptist Church at the above address.
