Lee Edward Wenzel

Mr. Lee Edward Wenzel, 66, of Frederick Maryland, died in the Inpatient Hospice at Martinsburg VA Medical Center from cancer on March 13, 2015 . Born on May 23, 1948, he was the son of Lewis Edward Wenzel and Dorothy Lucille Young. Mr. Wenzel was a brickmason. An Army Veteran, he was in the ninth infantry, 3rd and 60th battalion from 1968-1970. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Lee also was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with his dogs; he also enjoyed watching NASCAR. He is survived by his children daughter Kati Davie and son Matthew Wenzel and wife Vera, grand-daughter Carly Davie, step-grand-daughters Ashley Davie and Taylor Davie, sister Judith Morgan, nephew Raymond Morgan and nieces Cheryl Sanders and Cynthia Mock. He will also be missed by his longtime close friend Carol Tarner. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm, on Monday, March 16, 2015, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Gerry Hanberry will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick County Humane Society, 550 Highland St #200, Frederick, MD 21701
