Arthur Samuel Briggs

April 6, 1935 — March 21, 2015

Mr. Arthur Samuel Briggs, of Frederick, passed in peace on Saturday March 21st, 2015 at the age of 79. He was the husband of Mary Jane Wilson Briggs. Born April 6, 1935, he was a son of Everette Frederick Briggs and Lillian Burke. He was the loving father of Robert and Maria Briggs, Wayne and Dede Tenly, Doug and Peggy Tenly, Michael Tenly, and Connie and Lee Liller; and the extremely proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Art will be fondly remembered by his witty sense of humor, loyalty to family and friends, and his continued passion for making people laugh. We will all miss you Art. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM on Monday, March 23 at the Keeney and Basford P.A. Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Graveside funeral services and interment will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, March 24 at the Rockville Cemetery, 1350 Baltimore Road, Rockville. The Rev. Timothy S. May will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in his memory to the Frederick Senior Center, 1440 Taney Avenue, Frederick, MD 21702.
