Mrs. Martha Anne "Marty" Jackson Delphey, 80, of New Market, MD, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She was the loving wife of Ray Gary Delphey, Jr., they were married in 1956. Born in Washington, DC, on June 4, 1934, she was the daughter of the late T. Floyd and Grace Rutter Jackson. Marty was a graduate of Washington Lee High School Class of 1952, and a graduate of the University of Maryland College in 1956. She and her husband lived in Wheaton for 37 years and she was involved with Girl Scouts, Wheaton Boys Club and the Resurrection Lutheran Church. She taught preschool at the Olney Day Nursery for 22 years. In 1996 they moved to Frederick, where she became an active member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Senior Recreation Council and the New Market "Young At Heart." Surviving in addition to her husband are her two children, Ray G. Delphey, III and wife Blanca, of Tampa, FL and Laura D. Acuna and husband Patrick, of Damascus, five grandchildren, Patrick F. Acuna, Jr., J. Grant Acuna, Matthew J. Acuna, Ray G. Delphey IV and wife Courtney and Stefanie D. Goggins and husband, Kyle three great grandchildren, Addison and Dylan Goggins and Easton Delphey. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 31 East Church Street, Frederick. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Dr. Robert Driver Bishop, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
