Mrs. Sally Hisim, age 57 of Frederick, passed away onMonday, March 30, 2015at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife for 32 years of Nsret Hisim whom she married on January 19, 1983. Born on June 18, 1957 in Lock Haven, PA, she was the daughter of Paul Hummer and the late Janice Hummer. Mrs. Hisim was a 1975 graduate of Governor Thomas Johnson High School. She continued her education locally at Hood College earning both her bachelors and masters degrees in education. She worked for Frederick County Public Schools, most notably for East Frederick Elementary and Lincoln Elementary. In her free time and her retirement, she enjoyed quilting and sewing. She even made some of her daughters' prom dresses. Most of all, she loved it when her whole family was together, particularly during family cruises. Mrs. Hisim was the loving mother of Rachel Hisim of Charleston, SC who practices nursing, Caitlin Hisim and fiancée Benjamin May of Fairfax, VA, and Hannah Hisim of Frederick. Mrs. Hisim is further survived by her sister Anne Massie of Kapolei, HI, and Karl Hummer of Boonsboro. She is preceded in death by her brother Andrew Hummer. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 2, 2015 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at Evangelical Lutheran Church, 31 E. Church St., Frederick on Friday, April 3, 2015 at 2 PM. Rev. Dr. Robert Driver-Bishop will officiate. Her interment will be private. Contributions may be made in Mrs. Hisim's name to the Wee Folks School, 35 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701.
