Eugene Henry Callahan

Eugene Henry Callahan, 87, of Towson, Maryland died on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of 47 years to the late Corinne Elizabeth (Moore) Callahan. Born on November 1, 1927 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Louis Henry and Irene (Warthen) Callahan. Eugene served in the United States Army Air Corps for 2 years. He retired from General Motors, as a Business Accounting Supervisor, where he was employed for 39 years. Eugene was a long time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time working on Cars. Eugene is survived by his three children, Dr. Patrick Eugene Callahan, wife Laura and their children, Allison, Cory and Kelly; Louis Moore Callahan, wife Fran, and their children, Meghan, Kevin and Kyle; Dr. Cecilia Anne Callahan, husband Dr. Eric Strauch and their children, Jacob, Julia, Jessica and Jenna; one brother, John Callahan and wife Dorothy; one sister, Suzanne Wolfe and husband Victor; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Patricia Walsh, Rosemary Ross, Alma Thurman and Louis Callahan. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, Maryland 21701. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Thursday, April 9th, at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 118 E. 2nd Street, Frederick. Father Stephen Gosnell will celebrate. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Callahan's memory to Catholic Charities, PO Box 17066, Baltimore, Maryland 21297.
