Mrs. Sandra Dee (Nichols) Toms, 54, of Frederick, died on May 1 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Randall McClain Toms, Sr. Born on March 11, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Pearl Louise (Abbott) Nichols. Mrs. Toms was a 1979 graduate of Loudoun County High School. She began her career at Rustler Steak House, where she first met the man that would become her husband in November 1981. Sandra worked at Sizzler and KB Toys as a manager until she began working as the Associate Manager of Dining at Frederick Community College. She was a member of Bush Creek Church of the Brethren since 2005, where she served as church clerk, was a member of the fellowship team and was involved with the kitchen committee. Sandra enjoyed the beach and relaxing around the water, reading books and especially preparing meals for her family. Mrs. Toms liked going to the movies and always wanted to please others. She will be missed by special friends Donna Sowers, Jean Page, Kristen Saunders, Harvey Snoots, Keith Forney and Rick and Nancy Pastor. In addition to her husband, she is survived by children Randall McClain Toms, Jr and his fiancée Kristen Wilmsen and Amanda Lynn Wall and husband Richard David and grand-children Ben, Jacob, Eli and Matthew. She is also survived by siblings Jimmy Estes Nichols, Ricky Nichols and Deborah Podgurski, siblings-in-law Donald C. Toms, Jr and wife Dottie, Linda J. Toms, Michael A. Toms and wife Karen and Paula A. Toms; mother-in-law Gloria Jean Michael Toms; great-grandmother-in-law Beatrice Toms as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by sister Patricia Johnson, brother-in-law Christopher S. Toms and father-in-law Donald C. Toms, Sr. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 4 from 12:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 9:00 PM at Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, 4821 Green Valley Road, Monrovia. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 5 at 11:00 AM at the same location, with interment being held in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Monrovia. Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Crum, Michael Toms, Ronald Rudy, Keith Forney, Harvey Snoots, Todd Crawford and Rick Bricker.
