Douglas Hardy Santmier, Jr., age 58 of Frederick, died peacefully surrounded by his family on May 2, 2015 at the College View Center, Frederick. Born on February 7, 1957, he was the son of Virginia L. Santmier. Doug worked over 30 years as a concrete finisher and was regarded as one of the best in the business. Doug was an outdoor person and loved to hunt, camp, fish and spend time at the beach. Surviving in addition to his mother are his children Chrissy, Dougie, Denise and Chad; his sisters Donna Fogle, Dale Wilhide, and Bobbi Santmier. He is also survived by a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Doug was preceded in death by his brothers Kenny and Ricci and his father Doughlas.
