Annabelle V. Baker Whittington, 89, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at her home. She was the wife of 65 years to the late Harry Lee Whittington. Born on February 5, 1926 in Chewsville, Maryland to the late John and Alice Virts Baker. Annabelle worked at Price Electric before going to work at Hanover Shoe Factory in Middletown, where she retired from. After retiring, she attended Frederick Community College to receive her GED. Annabelle is survived by her sons Ronald L. Whittington and wife Deborah of Frederick and Dennis K. Whittington and fiancé Marjorie of West Virginia; Shirley Ann Almendinger and husband John of New Jersey; brother, James Baker; sister, Alice Hunter; five grandchildren, Tammy Scrivener, Bryan Smith, Chris Whittington, Brett Davis and wife Heather and Teri Kissner and husband Tom; seven great grandchildren; and special friends, Latrisha and Dwayne Brown and Helen and Peck Lowe. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lester Baker and her sister, Rosalie Slomcheck. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral will be held at 10am on Thursday, May 21st at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
