Nellie Jean Myers

Mrs. Nellie Jean Myers, 90, of Hanover, PA died June 11, 2015 at Hanover Hospital. Married for 48 years, she was the wife of the late Gordon Charles Myers who passed away in 1995. Originally from Silver Spring, MD, she was born on November 1, 1924, and was a daughter of the late Franklin Mason Miller and Margaret Ellen Barnes Miller. During most of her life, she resided with her husband and children for approximately 20 years in Takoma Park, MD and subsequently 40 years in Damascus, MD prior to her relocation to Hanover, PA in 2007. Nellie is survived by her 5 children, Diane Jean Gower and her husband David, Kenneth Gordon Myers, Susan Elaine Collins, Richard Charles Myers and Alaeta Sharon Myers, 7 grandchildren, Stephanie Klements, Scott Gower, Jason Myers, Jonathan Myers, Aaron Collins, Teresa Collins and Glynis Knibb and 2 great-grandchildren Rebecca and Ian Klements. She is also survived by her sister Mary Janette Ayers. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 19 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD. Services will begin immediately following visitation at 11:00 AM in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
