Ernest L. Morris

Mr. Ernest Linwood Morris, Jr., of Frederick, died on Thursday, June 25, 2015. He was the husband of JoAnn Michele Morris. Born on October 12, 1949, he was the son of the late Ernest Linwood Morris, Sr. and Rita Irene (Dutrow) Morris. Mr. Morris was a longtime employee at Renn Kirby Pontiac, for over 40 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Jarrett. Ernie enjoyed sports of all kinds as well. His grandchildren were a very special part of his life. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Nicole Michelle Eavey and her husband Ray of Smithsburg and Amy Jo Morris of Frederick as well as grandchildren Amanda Marie Leith of Frederick, Ashley Renee Leith of Smithsburg and Brittanie Ann Leith of Andrew, SC and great-grandchildren Kaden Charles Scott Leith, Kameren Ernest Joseph Leith and Isabella Elizabeth Nikole Harold. He is also survived by siblings Dorothy Baugher of Frederick, Brenda Cashen and husband Bill of Florida, Dwight Morris of Hagerstown, Mary Morgan and husband Terry of Frederick and Ida Breckenridge and husband Carlos of Hagerstown as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother in law Glenn Baugher, Sr. He will also be greatly missed by a special friend, Sarah Harrison. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday, June 29 at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 30 at 1:00 PM in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Memorial contributions are suggested to one of the following charities: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105; The American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123 or to The Humane Society, PO Box 3185, Frederick, Maryland 21705.
