Allan Dale Heuerman, Jr., 77, of Frederick, died on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Phyllis Godzisz Heuerman. Born in Faribault, MN on November 21, 1937, he was a son of the late Allan Dale, Sr., and Harriett Nissen Heuerman. Allan was a Human Resources Executive with the Federal Government for more than 35 years and received Presidential recognition for his work. He consulted in the Human Resources field for another 10 years. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, sang on the church choir and was a member of the Fine Arts Committee. He loved his church community and worked on countless committees. He loved the friendships he made there. Allan was a devoted and loving father. He was an avid supporter of his children's school activities and interests and spoke often of his adventures as a band booster parent. Allan traveled the world with his wife Phyllis. He loved music of all kinds, from classical, religious, Bob Dylan to bluegrass. He loved gardening and grew his own vegetables every year. He was his wife's right hand and biggest supporter of her garden. He worked faithfully every Saturday in the church gardens. Allan was an extraordinary, ordinary man and loved his entire family and they have all been touched in some way by Allan's kind, caring and gentle nature. Surviving in addition to his wife are his two children, Scott A. Heuerman and wife Emily, of Nashville, TN and Susan Hollingsworth and husband Jason, of Johnston, Iowa, two brothers, Thomas Heuerman and wife Melanie, of Minneapolis, MN and James Heuerman and wife Sandra, of Carmel Valley, CA, and one sister, Jo Ann Nystrom and husband Bruce, of Lake John, MN, four grandchildren, Sarah, Allan, Nate and Joe and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 2 p.m., in the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 31 East Church Street, Frederick. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rev. Dr. Robert Driver- Bishop, will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the mausoleum of the church garden. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick.
