Timothy Blackwell Holmes

February 5, 1951 — July 2, 2015

Timothy Blackwell Holmes, 64 of Sharpsburg, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at his home with his wife and family by his side. He was the husband to Patricia Kasiaras Holmes. Born on February 5, 1951 in Washington D.C., he was the son of Eunice (Garcia) Holmes and the late Blackwell O. Holmes. Tim enjoyed spending time with his dogs, completing challenging crossword puzzles, tending to his vegetable garden, and feeding and photographing birds. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his grandchildren, engaging in nerf gun battles, and he shared a special bond with grandson Ryan on all things associated with Godzilla and T-Rex. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, Jessica Hartis Kentfield and husband Matthew of Fairfax, VA, and Craig Hartis and wife Kristin of Frederick, MD; four grandchildren, Ryan Hartis (15), Connor Kentfield (10), Jordan Hartis (10) and Alyssa Hartis (8); his sister, Sherry Holmes Schlenker; brother, Bradley Holmes; five nieces and three nephews. A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
