Mr. William E. Roderick, Jr. also known as Bill and Slim, age 60 of Walkersville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Susan Alberta (Creek) Roderick who he married on November 10, 1979. Born on August 17, 1954 in Frederick, he was the son of Dorothy Roderick Testerman and the late William E. Roderick, Sr. Mr. Roderick was a 1972 graduate of Linganore High School. He began employment with the Frederick County Highway Department retiring in 1997. He continued his career at Sam's Club where he was currently employed. He was a life long member of the United Methodist Church currently attending at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. He served the church as a lay speaker and sang special music. He was also an active member of the Woodsboro American Legion and the Outcast Car Club. In his free time he was a bass player and lead singer with the Glade Valley Travelers and the Glade Valley Express playing gospel and blue grass music. Mr. Roderick is the father of Sarah Rebecca Roderick of Walkersville, the brother of Mark Roderick of Frederick, Rebecca Servey and husband Ken of Middletown, the uncle of Justin Waldron and wife Ashley and Jason Waldron, and the great uncle of Mackenzie Waldron. He is additionally survived by his in-laws Albert and Audrey Creek and numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his stepfather Paul Lewis Testerman. The family will received friends on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Keeney & Basford P.A. Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick were services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chepel of the funeral home on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 11 AM. Pastor Brian Green will officiate. The interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
