Jeffrey Stewart Roehl, 65, of Frederick, MD, died at home on Thursday, July 9, 2015. Born on May 20, 1950 in Pasadena, CA to the late Ernest O. Roehl and the late Mary Lou Meverden Roehl. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ellen Hamor Roehl; his sons, Daniel, Nicholas, Andrew and James; and his brother, William E. Roehl and husband, Todd Siewert of San Francisco, CA. Jeff received a BA in Philosophy from the University of Southern California in 1972 and a JD degree from UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 1975. Jeff started his law career as a Deputy District Attorney in Santa Ana, CA, then practiced law as a partner with the California law firm of Thelen, Marrin, Johnson & Bridges. Jeff spent much of his career as a corporate lawyer working for Bechtel, an engineering, construction, and project management company. He was respected by his colleagues as a skillful negotiator with a razor sharp wit and sense of humor, as well as a friend and teacher. Jeff is best remembered as a loving husband and father. His work brought the family to London, England from 1993-2003 where they all established life long friendships. Jeff was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Frederick. He was a published Thomas More scholar. A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, July 16, 2015, from Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 East Second Street, Frederick. Interment will follow in the St. Johns Cemetery, Frederick. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick.
