Rosemarie Williams

March 13, 1938 — July 2, 2015

Rosemarie Schoen Williams, 77, passed away unexpectedly in her home, Thursday, July 2nd 2015. Born March 18, 1938 in Berlin, Germany, she made Frederick County, Maryland her home for the past 25 years. Rosemarie was predeceased by her beloved husband John as well as her parents, Wilhelm and Margrit and her sister Elke. An avid gardener, Rosemarie also loved to spend time with friends, travel to see family and enjoy the beautiful views of her farm. She enjoyed music, discussing current events/politics, and of course, her cat, Coco. Rosemarie made the world her community, was fluent in many languages, and enjoyed sharing photos and stories of her travels to such places as Madagascar, Cameroon and Italy. She is survived by her brother, Rudiger; her sisters, Barbara and Linde; her brother-in-law, Jim; and many nieces, nephews and grand-nephews. Along with her family, she leaves behind a close-knit community of friends and neighbors. Family and friends will gather to remember Rosemarie on Saturday, August the 1st. At 2:00 p.m. at Keeney and Basford funeral home in 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Rosemarie's honor to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington.
