Mrs. Catherine "Catty" Elizabeth Gannon, age 93 of Frederick passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Homewood at Crumland Farms. She was the wife of the late Lewis "Goose" B. Gannon, Jr. who passed away in 1975. Born on July 15, 1922 in Jefferson she was the daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Catherine B. (Lapole) Pearl. Mrs. Gannon was a longtime member at the EvangelicalReformed United Church of Christ, Frederick. She was also a member and volunteered for the Ladies AuxiliaryatCitizen's Nursing Home. She worked at C&P Telephone Company, the Federal Government and at the Red House Motor Inn. Catty was an avid golfer at the VFW Country Club and at Eaglehead Country Club. She enjoyed, quilting, cooking, and gardening. She was a spirited person and enjoyed life. Most of all she loved her family particularly her grandchildren who called her Mum-Mum. Mrs. Gannon was the mother of Lewis "Ben" Gannon, III and wife Cathy of Middletown and Ginny Gannon Gardiner and husband John of Frederick; the grandmother of David and fiancé Terri, Nicole and husband Vince, Brian and wife Leah, James (Skip) and wife Kristi and Brady and wife Erika and the great-grandmother of Kyleigh, Camryn, Jackson, Will, and Harper. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Gannon is also preceded in death by her grandson Jesse and special friends Dot and Nook Rhoderick, six brothers and two sisters. She was the last of her immediate family. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 11 AM at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Markets St., Frederick. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Gannon's name to Homewood at Crumland Farms, 7407 Willow Road, Frederick, MD 21702.
