Mabel Elizabeth Johnson

Mrs. Mabel Elizabeth Johnson, 85, of Clarksburg, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at St. Catherine's Nursing Home, in Emmitsburg. She was the wife of the late John L. Johnson, who died September 5, 2013. Born in Taneytown on May 20, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Charles B. and Carrie V. Dutterer Reaver. She worked as a secretary in her father's company known as Charles B. Reaver and Sons Trucking. She was a graduate of Taneytown High School in the class of 1947. She was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, in Taneytown. Surviving her are two brothers, Francis Reaver, Franklin Reaver and one sister, C. June Ripley, a sister-in-law, Nina Reaver and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters and four brothers, with one being her twin brother. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 11 AM. The Rev. Steven Ostendorf, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Grace United Church of Christ, 49 West Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD 21787.
