Mrs. Jennifer June Shook, 81, of Jefferson and formerly of Adamstown, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015, at the Vindobona Nursing Home. She was the wife of Arthur T. Shook. Born in Washington, DC, on July 17, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Rose Mullinux Watkins. Mrs. Shook had worked for many years as the hostess for the Peter Pan Inn, Urbana, and also as a sales clerk for JC Penney.. She was a member of the Southend Baptist Church and a former member of the Carroll Manor Fire Company auxiliary. She was known for making the best deviled eggs. Surviving in addition to her husband is one son, Steven Shook, of Frederick, daughter-in-law, Wanda Shook- Bartlett, of Adamstown, and grandchildren, Evan M. Shook and Dana, Dana L. Shook and Brent, and step grandson, Andrew M. Tomalewski, great grandchildren, Jordan N. Shook and Braden M. Shook, and many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by friends, Larry and Pat Burns, Regina Thomas, Melvin and Nancy Beachley, Dot Thomas and Ann Thomas. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew L. Shook and two brothers, Walter and Kenneth Watkins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Mausoleum Chapel in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, 515 South Market Street, Frederick. Where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Ken Stalls, will officiate. Interment will follow in the cemetery. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick.
