Mary Jane Hildebrand Wachter, age 91, of Frederick, MD passed away at home surrounded by loving family and friends on Wednesday August 12, 2015. "Biggie," as she was known to friends and family, was born in Frederick, MD on March 30, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Lewis Hildebrand and Gladys Orme Hildebrand. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Charles Richard "Dick" Wachter and her sister Marguerite Hildebrand McMurry. Biggie graduated from Frederick High School in 1941. Following high school, she was employed by the local phone company. She worked as a bookkeeper at Wachter Bros. Inc. and later for the Frederick Elks Club. She loved her home, the house that her husband Dick Wachter and father Lewis Hildebrand built in 1957. She was passionate about music and loved to dance. She enjoyed her flower garden and the daily visits from squirrels and birds. She loved her cats Sheba and Chloe, her dogs Serena, Kelly and Aaron, and her most recent pet cat, Smokey. She liked shopping, reading the daily newspaper, spending time on her iPad sending emails and text messages as well as playing games on her computer. She did extensive research on genealogy and was very proud of her family heritage. Biggie is survived by her son Ralph Wachter, Ph.D. of Vienna, VA, daughter Claire Wachter, D.M.A., and her son-in-law Dean Kramer, D.M.A. of Eugene, OR. She is survived by her twin sister Dorothy Lucille "Tiny" Troxell and by numerous nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by her dear friends, Judy and Earl Nelson, and devoted caregivers, Loretta and Sandy. A private service will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
