Mrs. Betty E. Dixon, 90, of Union Bridge, passed away on Monday, August 31 at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Earl Edward Dixon. Born on July 21, 1925 in Kemptown, she was a daughter of the late Rudy Leroy and Anna Lucille Day Brandenburg. Mrs. Dixon was a homemaker and a farmer's wife. She was a member of Providence Methodist Church in Kemptown. She is survived by loving children Bernard L. Dixon of Union Bridge and Janice E. Shull and husband C. John Shull, III of Union Bridge as well as very close cousin Earl Clevenger as well as grandchildren Jacqueline Reed, Dewey Tibbs, Joanne Poole, Don Linton and Belinda Shull, 13 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister Ann Emswiler of Monrovia, brother Rudell Brandenburg of Monrovia, brother-in-law Earl Browning of Mt. Airy and sister-in-law Dottie E. Engle of Middletown. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Brandenburg and sisters Charlotte Hermann, Mary Helen Browning and Rosalie Staley. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 5 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
