On Oct. 06, 1955, Cynthia (Cindy) arrived in our family as a beautiful baby girl, who was quiet and very happy. She attended school in Montgomery County, and graduated from Stephen Knolls in Kensington, MD. Throughout the years, Cindy has enjoyed many activities, but especially loved to draw pictures, many board games, and especially bingo (when she won). Cindy loved and cheered for the Washington Redskins, but her passion was for NASCAR and General Hospital. Her favorite NASCAR driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr until he passed away, and she then decided that Dale Earnhardt Jr would be her new favorite. When Dale Jr wasn't having such a good year, she was asked if she wanted to switch allegiance to another driver, she would wave her hand and adamantly say NO! Cindy loved to celebrate the holidays and took great pride in decorating the home - especially, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas (Her favorite). Cindy was raised in a Christian home and loved all the Bible stories, especially those about Jesus taking care of the lost and sick. She loved Jesus very much, and talked about his birth and the reason he was born for the salvation of the world. She talked a lot about Heaven and the fact that her father, mother and little brother Jimmy were already living in Heaven. She recently told her sister Carolyn she had a "part-family" here on earth and Carolyn was her substitute mother. We know you're having a joyous, wonderful time in Heaven, and, as your earthly "part-family," we want to wish you a Merry Christmas with Jesus everyday of the year. We know how much you enjoyed celebrating Christmas and Jesus' birth each year. You are now our "Angel in Heaven". We will always deeply miss you Cynthia, and we're very thankful you were with us for 59 years. We will always remember how wonderful and loving you always were to everybody - We will also miss your little habits, collections and your fantastic memory that helped us on many occasions. All our sincere love Cindy, and we will have a joyous meeting again in Heaven with you. Your brother, Larry, and sisters, Nancy, Betty, Carolyn, and all those connected to the Barker, Mindte, Brockman, Brock, and Vantrease families. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Montgomery Hospice: 1355 Piccard Drive, Suite 100 Rockville, MD 20850 or Carroll Hospice: 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157. They provided Cynthia with extraordinary care throughout her illness.
