Catherine Frances Quinn

Mrs. Catherine Frances (Calabrese) Quinn, 91, of Frederick, died Thursday, September 10, 2015 at St. Catherine's Nursing Home, Emmitsburg, MD. She was the wife of the late Harold Joseph Quinn. Born November 9, 1923, in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Enrico and Lena PalinoCalabrese. In 1945,Catherine (Kay) met the love of her life , Harold, an officer in the United States Navy, while she was a graduate nurse at Cambridge City Hospital in Boston. They married and spent the year traveling in the Navy until the end of WW ll. After the war, they settled in the Washington, D.C. area, where they raised their family. She loved being a mother, grandmother, homemaker and a part time registered nurse. Catherine is survived by her four children, Vivian Graban and husband, Michael, of Ijamsville,MD, Susan Wade and husband, James, of North Potomac, MD , Catherine Quinn and husband, John Reichard, of Silver Spring, MD and John Quinn of McKinney, TX; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, James Calabrese Sr. and wife Bridie. A Memorial Mass will be held at Saint John the Evangelist, on October 3, 2015 at 10 am, 118 E. 2nd Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Father Hector Mateus will officiate. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20906. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Daughters of Charity, care of Sister Rosalie, 333 S. Seton Ave. #1, Emmitsburg, MD 21727.
