Lynne Ellen Wixom

April 21, 1941 — October 18, 2015

Ms. Lynne Ellen Wixom, 74, of Frederick, died on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a year long battle with cancer. Born in Chicago, Illinois on April 21, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Frieda Meyers. She was retired after 20 years as a Benefits Examiner for the Central Pension Fund of the International Union of Operating Engineers. She was a member of the Red Hats Society, an avid reader and belonged to several book clubs. She enjoyed playing mahjong.. Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Goldstein and the staff at the Regional Cancer Center, for their care and professionalism. Surviving are her three sons, Randy L. Wixom and Elizabeth Brown, of Frederick, Brian S. Wixom, of Frederick and Darryl A. Wixom of Finksburg, one brother, Barry Meyers and Renee of Ashville, NC, two grandchildren, Luisa Wixom and Mary Jane Wixom, great grandchildren, Ava, Rhys and Milania and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, October 22, 2015, in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Rabbi Jordan Hersh, will officiate. Those wishing to attend should meet at the FSK Memorial Chapel with in the main gate to proceed to the gravesite. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Kline Hospice House, P. O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
