John Frederick (Fred) Wineke, Jr., age 83, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in Winston Salem, NC. He married Mildred Edna Fisher of Frederick, MD on October 18, 1952. Before her passing in 2013, they were married 60 years. Born on August 28, 1932 in Reisterstown, MD, he was the son of the late John Frederick Wineke and Alice King Wineke. He served in the Army and was a graduate of Loyola College. As a federal employee he and his family lived in a variety of locations. After retiring from federal employment in New Cumberland, PA as a Logistics Systems Analyst, he and his wife moved from Pennsylvania to Florida. He enjoyed watching football, repairing TV's, maintaining cars, and going to the beach. He is survived by daughters Chris Clark of Emerald Isle, NC, and Terry Ford and husband Greg of Clemmons, NC, grandsons Brian Clark and wife Erin of Raleigh, NC, Jeffrey Clark and wife Susan of New Market, MD, Mark Ford and wife Malinda of Clemmons, NC, great granddaughters Emma and Nina Ford, and Lillian Clark, and great grandsons Kenton and Taj Clark. He will also be remembered by brothers Joe and Jim Wineke. He was preceded in death by brother, Richard Wineke, daughter Jean Gruver, and grandson Matthew Ford. Funeral arrangements have been made by Keeney & Basford Funeral Home 106 E. Church St. Frederick, MD 21701. Services will be October 31, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 116 E. 2nd St Frederick, MD 21701 at 10:30 AM. Internment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a VFW/American Legion or the charity of your choice.
