Howard Thomas Scheel

Howard Thomas Scheel, 70, of Frederick, MD, passed away on November 15, 2015 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Emma DeLawder Scheel. Born on October 12, 1945, he was the son of the late Howard Clay and Ruth Boyer Scheel. Howard is survived by his two children, Christopher Todd Scheel and Kimberly Dawn Dunning and husband Kyle; two grandchildren, Cainen and Hunter Dunning and numerous family and friends. Howard attended Westley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C. and was clergy for Araby United Methodist Church for 10 years. He retired from the Frederick City Communications Department after more than 25 years. He was a volunteer for the Frederick Co. Fire Police. Howard was a man that always had a wave and a smile for everyone. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8pm, on Friday, November 20 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The funeral will be at 10 am on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to assist the family in this time.
