Evelyn Ruth Lindsey

Evelyn Ruth "Miss Evelyn" Lindsey, 94, of Frederick, died Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Delbert E. Lindsey.

Born July 31, 1921, in Hastings, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gabriel and Susan Hricko.

Evelyn was a member of St. John's Catholic Church since 1949. To say she was an avid bingo player would be an understatement . Five or six nights and several early mornings each week she would attend bingo at the American Legion, Elks, Eagles, Jewish Center, Banner School, McDonalds, Independence Fire, among others. She liked to say she never met a person at bingo who wasn't nice. She will be sorely missed by all.

Evelyn is survived by her sons, Francis Lindsey and Paul Lindsey and wife Mary, brother, John Hricko, sister, Louise Airhardt, grandchildren, Allison Lindsey and Alex Lindsey, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 11:30AM, on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00pm, on Monday, November 23, 2015, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 118 E. 2nd Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Father Hector Mateus will officiate. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
