Douglas Spencer

Douglas Edward Spencer, 59, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on November 25, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of Sonya Marie Spencer whom passed away in February of this year. Douglas was a veteran of the United States Airforce. After his honorable discharge, Doug went to work for NIST (formerly The National Bureau of Standards), where he worked until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, cheering on the Washington Redskins and drawing. He is survived by two brothers, John Warren Spencer and wife Jessica and their children, Lissa, Logan, Emma and Sloan; and his brother, Mark Alan Spencer and wife Myra, and their children, and Doug’s Godsons, Nathan and Tyler. A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, Maryland 21701. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.keeneybasford.com
