Tonya L. Majkowski

July 22, 1948 — December 8, 2015

Tonya Laverne Majkowski, 67, of Frederick, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital Bayview Center, Baltimore, following a brief illness surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Dennis H. Majkowski. Born in Nutter Fort, WV on July 22, 1948, she was a daughter of Bernadine Virginia McClain, of WV, and the late Arlos Kenneth Shreves. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. She enjoyed traveling, antiquing, cooking, white water rafting, her two dogs, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the local Potomac Valley Fly Fishers. Besides her mother, she is survived by four children, Andrea Maruskin and husband Kevin, Russell Majowski and wife Tiffany, Steven Majkowski and wife Kim, Betsy Evans and husband Brad; Eight grandchildren, Hayley, Emily and Jack Maruskin, Julia, Nicholas and Matthew Majkowski, Michael and Chase Laney. She is also survived by four siblings, Kathy Shreves, Kenneth Shreves, Sandra Harbert and Barbara Morgan. The family will receive friends at the Keeney and Basford P.A. Funeral Home, 106 E Church Street, Frederick, where a memorial gathering will be held from 3 to 5pm on Saturday, December 12th. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in her name to the Frederick County Animal Control Center, 1832 Rosemont Ave. Frederick, MD 21702.
