Charles Scott Smith, 44, of Thurmont, died on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born March 31, 1971, in Frederick, he was the beloved son of Nancy Priebe Smith, of Thurmont, and the late Roy Samuel “Sam” Smith, Jr. Scott was a graduate of Walkersville High School and had worked at Frederick Memorial Hospital and Life Technologies. He was an avid reader and model car collector. Besides his mother, he is survived by two brothers, William Franklin “Frank” Smith, of Thurmont and Roy S. “Sam” Smith III, of Emmitsburg. He will be missed by his three aunts, Judith Zayas, of Florida, Ann Priebe, of Thurmont, and Pat Wheeldon and husband James, of Frederick; cousins, Tony, Patty, Anthony & Isabella Venturini, Linda, Greg, Leighann and Noah Shoemaker, Melissa Knight; his step-mother, Mary Flickinger, of Emmitsburg and his loving cat, Coral. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sylvan and Elva Priebe and Roy and Irene Smith, Sr; and aunts, Debra Bryan and Pamela Lankfort; and a cousin, Lori Wheeldon. The family will receive friends from noon until time of memorial services at 1pm on Saturday, January 9th, 2016, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E Church Street, Frederick. Interment will be private.
