Stephen R. Bauman

Mr. Stephen Robert Bauman, 89, of Frederick, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Homewood at Crumland Farms. He was the husband of the late Audrey Pressler Bauman, who died on May 30, 2014. Born in Pennsylvania on May 12, 1926, he was a son of the late Stephen and Rosa Bezzeg Bauman.

Steve had worked many years as an electrical engineer with Comsat and Fairchild. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1944 to 1969 and was a radio electronics officer. He was a life member of the Frederick Elks and at one time an active member of the Columbia Lodge # 058, AF & AM, of Frederick,  the A & A Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, Frederick Lodge and the Ali Ghan Shriners, Cumberland.  He was a member of the Frederick Amateur Radio Club and was a past president.

Surviving are his siblings, William Bauman and wife Kathryn, Michael Bauman and wife Nancy, Charles Bauman, Carol Madden and Dorothy Missonellie and husband Jeffrey, Sister-in-law Patricia Staffieri and husband, Raymond, cousins, Audrey House, Miriam Selzer, Jeffrey House, Susan Lewis, Francine Hahn, Jennifer McGraw and Sally Rice. He was preceded in death by sisters, Theresa Schwartz and Rose Gallagher, who died the same day.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, February 6th in the Chapel at Homewood.
