Rodney Ray Baker, Sr.

Mr. Rodney Ray Baker, Sr., 53, of Frederick, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born in Frederick on September 6, 1962, he was a son of the late Donald L. Sr., and Audrey Winpigler Baker.

Rodney had worked for many years at the C. Edward Winpigler and Sons, Company. He was a member of the Eagles Club, Amvets, Redmen Club and Patriotic Club. Rodney enjoyed playing softball, shooting darts and playing pool. He participated in many tournaments and competed in Las Vegas with his APA pool team. Above all, Rodney loved being a father. His children meant the world to him and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for them.

Surviving are his children, Denaye Ray Baker,  Rodney Ray Baker, Jr., and fiancee, Jessica and Ethan Ray Baker,  step children, Donavan, Lawrence and Jesse, grandchildren, Xavier, Myalyn and Cameron, siblings, Scott D. Baker and Jean, Adella Wiegand and Keith and Doncella Higgs, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his soul mate and biggest supporter, Jeanne Baker. He was preceded in death by siblings, Vicki Morgan and Donald L. Baker, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., on Friday, February 5, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
