Carol Lee Hemseri

Carol Lee (Doody) Hemseri, 74, of Inwood WV and West Chester, PA, passed away unexpectedly on February 6, 2016. Born on May 28, 1941 in Brunswick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Sara Clara (Wilhide) Doody Root and Boyd Vernon Doody. Carol was a graduate of Frederick High School class of 1959 and attended classes at the American Banking Association and Anne Arundel Community College. Carol was a co-owner and operator of Five Sisters Gifts in Clearbrook, VA, and had recently returned to the Inwood area to be with her sister. She was an avid animal lover and advocate. She enjoyed tennis, jogging, gardening, baking, and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her son, Scott Hemseri of Phoeniz, AZ; daughter, Pemra and son-in-law Greg Levinson of Mavern, PA; three grandchildren, Max, Joshua and Lily Levinson; three sisters, Shirley A. Fells, Sylvia Jo Chidester and Gloria Jean Appelbaum.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Jerry Marie Thornley.

The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD. The funeral service will begin at 2pm and interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
