Jack M. Hatfield

October 27, 1953 — February 25, 2016

Mr. Jack M. Hatfield, 62, of Frederick, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 25, 2016, at his home. He was the loving husband of Cathleen "Cathy" O'Hara-Hatfield. They were married in 1979 and been together for 42 years. Born in Baltimore on October 27, 1953, he was a son of Virginia Solomon Hatfield, of Laurel and the late Harry T. "Tim" Hatfield.

Jack graduated from Laurel High School. He took college classes in Landscape Management. He worked at Chapel Valley Landscaping, Carriage Trade Christmas Shop, BB & T Bank, Eisenhart Wallpaper Store, The Home Company, Gladhill Furniture Store and Wolf Furniture Store.

Jack had a great sense of humor, very youthful spirit, mischievous, the "life of the party, and always unfiltered. His true passion was his family. He adored his two sons, attended all the band events, created costumes for Urbana Elementary School plays, attended soccer, baseball and lacrosse games.

Jack loved indulging in his creative side with interior design and wallpaper. He loved landscaping yards, with Koi ponds and beautiful flowers. His townhouse in Amber Meadows and his house in Lake Linganore, both had the most beautiful yards.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother, are his two loving sons, Sean Hatfield, Adam Hatfield and Olivia Voeglein, siblings, Tom Hatfield and Barbara Rhodes, Terry Sease and Rick, Ken Hatfield and Maureen, and many nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by his brother-in-law, Greg O'Hara and wife Kathleen.

Celebrating and remembering his life will be from 5 to 8 p.m., on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Services and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Greater Urbana Area Food Bank, 4328 Reels Mill Road, Frederick, MD 21704. Online condolences may be shared at keeneybasford.com.
