Marilyn C. Kilpatrick

April 14, 1927 — March 7, 2016

Marilyn Claire (Anderson) Kilpatrick of Country Meadows in Frederick, MD passed away peacefully on March 7, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Marilyn was born in Omaha, NE on April 14, 1927 to Charles and Vera Anderson. Marilyn’s brother, Dwight Anderson, and brother-in-law, Bob Rawley, are still living in Omaha with their families. Her brother, Brother Cyril Anderson, is a Trappist Monk and lives in upstate NY. She was predeceased by her sister, Bev Rawley.

Marilyn met the love of her life, Earl Kilpatrick, in Omaha when he was home on leave from the US Army. They married June 3, 1950 and eagerly began family life with the birth of their first child in 1951. The small family moved east where they settled in the Washington, DC area. Earl passed away in October 2010. Both parents are dearly missed by their 11 children and their spouses…Linda and Larry Lauer, Greg, Ed and Janet, Kristy and Pierre Malochee, Mike and Jeanne, Darrell and Jean, Karen and Greg Hull, Duane, Monica and Jim Solomon, Marty and Jenny, and Kim Thrasher…27 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Marilyn’s Catholic faith was the foundation of her life. She was active in her church and service to the community wherever she lived. She worked with The Christophers, a group of families who minister to the poor, and The Madonna House Family Retreat Center in Virginia. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, cooking for the homeless and volunteering at the food bank. She was instrumental in developing the youth group at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olney, MD. With young children still at home, Marilyn learned flower arranging and soon opened her own floral business specializing in weddings. She had a passion for music as well; she enjoyed playing the piano, singing and listening to music of many different varieties.

Bless your pointy little head mommy. Rest in peace.
