Herbert Hoover Fox

Mr. Herbert Hoover Fox, 87, of Thurmont, died on Thursday, March 17 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Arlene Jane McBride, and for the last 14 years the companion of Edith Wiles. Born on November 7, 1928, he was the son of the late Henry Jacob and Elsie Mae Kolb Fox.

Mr. Fox is survived by his children, Debra Ann Fox Silance and husband Thomas, Sharon Elizabeth Fox Newby and husband Robert, Colleen Jane Fox Beall and Herbert William Fox and wife Vickie as well as 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings Catherine L. Fox Clark, Ruth G. Fox Willhide and Eleanor M. Fox Hahn. He was preceded in death by a grand-daughter, Jill Marie Messner as well as siblings John Henry Fox, Norman Wilson Fox, Sr., Doris Elizabeth Fox Craver and Thomas Eugene Fox.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 25 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 26 at 10:00 in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home, Rev. Dr. Barbara Kershner Daniel officiating.
