Bruce L. Simmons

December 23, 1980 — May 7, 2016

Mr. Bruce L. Simmons, age 35 of Frederick, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016. He was the son of John T. Simmons of Frederick and Mary Ramey-Kehne of Joppa.

Bruce was a graduate of Thomas Johnson High School and Towson University. He worked as a carpenter for PC Construction in Frederick. In his free time he enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing, drawing, pottery, hanging out with his friends listening to music and dancing.

In addition to his parents, Bruce is survived by his paternal grandparents, John T. Sr., and Dolly Simmons of Erwin, TN, his brother Neal Simmons & wife Angie of Joppa, a nephew Riddik, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Charles V & Mary M Ramey.

Friends will be received on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 2 to 5 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD with a prayer service being held around 4 PM. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 12 Noon at the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 E. 2nd St., Frederick, MD. Father Hector Meteus will officiate. The interment will be private.
