Lucille Catherine Whisner

Lucille Catherine Hargett Whisner, 78, of Frederick, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 with her family by her side. For 58 years she was the beloved wife to Robert Earl Whisner, with whom she shared a lifetime of wonderful memories.

Lucille was born on February 18, 1938, in Frederick County, MD to the daughter of the late Earl and Nellie (Bartlett) Hargett. She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church. She worked at Sagner Clothing Factory when she was younger and retired from Airpax after 26 years.

She enjoyed shopping, bird watching, gardening, dining out, and cooking for all of her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was especially proud to call her granddaughter Dr. Kendall Bustad and watch her grandson cross the stage with his Master’s degree, which she wanted the world to know.

In addition to her husband, Lucille is survived by her daughter Sharon Borge, husband Vijay as well as her grandchildren Kendall Bustad, husband Jacob and Robert Borge, wife Lindsay. She is also survived by her siblings, Hazel Tobery, Raymond Hargett, and Mary Blake, many nieces, nephews, and extended family all of whom brought her great joy.

She was preceded in death by her loving sisters Helen Cummings and Pauline Hughes, and her nephew Brian Sines.

Her lasting tribute to all that knew her will be her warm smile, big heart, and feisty spirit.

The family will receive friends from 9:30-10am on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral service will begin at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
