Cathy Hilton Rose

Mrs. Cathy Hilton Rose, 66, of New Market, MD died on May 14, 2016. She was the wife of the late Gregory James Rose. Born on November 21, 1949, in Canandaigua, New York, she was the daughter of James Henry Hilton and the late Dorothy Herrick Hilton.

Mrs. Rose was a nurse, retiring after 17 years at Homewood at Crumland Farms. Cathy also was a volunteer at Care Net Frederick and also worked at Daybreak Adult Services for a short time. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening. Cathy took a special interest and joy in her family and especially her three grand-children, Alex, Amanda and Gage. Mrs. Rose was a longtime and devoted member of Fredericktowne Baptist Church where she was very active and involved with women's bible study groups.

Cathy is survived, in addition to her husband, by daughters Lorraine Rose Thomas and husband Brian, Susan Rose and husband James Perry and Sara Rose and husband Benjamin Cushwa as well as her three grandchildren Alex James Thomas and wife Amy, Amanda Catherine Thomas and Gage Thomas Perry. She is also survived by her brothers, James Hilton, Jr. and wife Elaine and Gary Hilton and wife Donna.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 18 at 2:00 at Fredericktowne Baptist Church, 8645 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville, MD 21793, with visitation from 12:00 PM to service time. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
