Mr. Clayton Jay Hinman, 85, of Jefferson, MD, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Carolyn Sterling Hinman. Born in Crisfield, MD on August 26, 1930, he was a son of the late Wilmer and Loreta Sterling Hinman.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, during the Korean War. He was retired as a quality control manager for Weinschel Engineering. He was a member of the Hagerstown beagle club.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one daughter, Cindy Pulliam and husband Wayne, of Jefferson, three grandchildren, Melissa Barber and husband, Patrick, Bruce W. Hinman, Jr., and wife Ashley and William Pulliam, four great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, Rhys and Dylan. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Wayne Hinman and his brother, Eugene Hinman.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 6 p.m., on Tuesday, at the funeral home. The Rev. Marnia Flores, will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at the Sunny Ridge Memorial Park, in Crisfield, MD.
