Roselee Mildred Brashears

Mrs. Roselee Mildred Brashears, 98, of Frederick, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Alvin F. Brashears and was previously married to the late Elmer Lewis, Sr.

Born November 27, 1917, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Bertha (Orem) Smith.

Roselee was a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren and Women of the Moose. Most of all, she was proud of the graduations and accomplishments of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Slifer (Delano), son, Elmer "Buck" Lewis, Jr. (Janet), grandchildren, Janette Ozag (Joe), Barry McNeill (Julie), Melissa McNeill (Mark Roach), Joanne Lewis (Dimas Catalano), Sandy Buchanan (David), Larry Lewis (Katie Higgins) and Daniel Lewis (Casey), 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Brashears (KIA Vietnam 1968) and her siblings.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2pm, on Friday, May 27, 2016, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00PM, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
