?Ursula Regina Kaiktsian, 94, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2016 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital surrounded by family. She was the wife of the late Agop “Jack” Kaiktsian, who preceded her in death June 9, 2002.
Born December 18, 1921, in Hagen, Germany she was the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Else Eulerich.
Prior to her retirement, she worked for many years as a legal secretary for James F. Fitzgerald in Silver Spring, MD. After she retired, she became a full time artist and participated in numerous exhibits in Frederick, Hagerstown, and the Washington area. Art was her lifelong passion. She studied in Berlin and Munich, Germany and then moved to Paris, France to continue at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. After she immigrated to the United States in 1951, she studied with Morris Louis American Abstract Expressionism at his studio in Washington, DC.
Regina was an amazing wife, grandmother (Bubbe), great-grandmother, and friend to so many! She is survived by her four children, David Kaiktsian of Virginia Beach, VA., James Kaiktsian and wife Kimberly of Greenville, TN., Michele Fritz and husband Robert of Walkersville, MD, and H. Leanne McKenzie and husband Joseph of Middletown, MD., ten grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
A grave side service will be held in the Garden of Solomon at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick, MD on June 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Beth Sholom Community Center, 1011 North Market Street, Frederick Maryland, 21701.
