Mary Ellen Ruggles Feeser, of Buckingham's Choice in Adamstown, passed peacefully in her sleep on June 14, 2016 at age 99.
She was born on the Mason-Dixon line family farm to Ralph and Mary Ruggles.
Mary Ellen and her husband owned and operated the Rob-Ellen Hallmark card and gift shops in Frederick, Columbia, Hanover and Taneytown for many years. They were original tenants in the Frederick Shopping Center when it opened in 1957.
Mary Ellen is survived by her son, Stephen Gregory Feeser of Frederick and Florida, granddaughter Wendy Feeser Jakszta and husband John, and great-grandchildren Lindsay and Ryan Jakszta of Dallas, TX. She is also survived by one brother, Ralph Ruggles of Hanover, PA and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Robert, in 2011, her son Larry in 2002 and her daughter-in-law, Maureen, in 2011. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by sisters Marian Ruggles King and Pauline Ruggles Keefer and brothers Lowell, Kenneth and Donald Ruggles.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, June 21 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 515 South Market Street, Frederick. Those attending should assemble at the FSK Memorial Chapel inside the front gates by 11am. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
The Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, Frederick, is in charge of arrangements and condolences may be shared with the family at keeneybasford.com.
