Todd Clayton Cole

February 24, 1969 — July 24, 2016

Mr. Todd Clayton Cole, age 47 of Frederick entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a two month battle with cancer.  He was the devoted husband for 23 years of Karen Lyn n (Hetzinger) Cole. He was born on February 24, 1969 and grew up in Tioga Center, NY. H e was the son of the late Kenneth and Ruth (Garrison) Cole.

Mr. Cole worked for the federal government and began his career as a Presidential Management Intern at the National Cancer Institute where he advanced to Director of the Office of Acquisition.  His most recent position was the Deputy Director of the Office of Acquisition and Logistics Management for the National Institutes of Health .  He was an active member at the Frederick Church of the Brethren serving the church as a D eacon.  He was a huge sports enthusiast ranging from the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles to his daughters swim meets.  Most of all he was a family man and loved, traveling, hiking, camping and swimming with his family.

Mr. Cole is the loving father of Aubrey, Meghan, and Kendall, the brother of Laura Hopkins and husband Al and Ken Cole and wife Joyce.  He is preceded in death by his brother Keary Cole.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11 AM at the Frederick Church of the Brethren, 201 Fairview Ave., Frederick, MD 21701.  Pastor Gene Hea c ock will officiate.  The interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Cole's name to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Southeastern Assistance in Health Care, 600 Celebrate Life Parkway, Newnan, GA 30265.  Arrangement by the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, Frederick and for those wishing to visit Mr. Cole's online memorial may do so by going to www.keeneybasford.com .
