Donald W. Davis, 84, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born on December 16, 1931 in Montgomery County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Ray Davis and Frances Lewis Young. Donald was a farmer during his younger years before going to work for Ernie’s Italian Kitchen for over 30 years until they closed. He was a hard worker, loved pets and had a passion for cooking for his family and friends. In his free time he was an avid bowler and loved riding his Yamaha motorcycle.

Donald is survived by his sister, Catherine I. Ropp; his devoted nieces, Kathy L. Harrison and Linda R. Linthicum his “favorite niece”; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; his dear friend Patricia Pettigall and the nurse that meant so much to him, Diane and special friends Ray and Carl from Northampton Manor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, James Lewis Davis, Clark Lee Davis, Arthur Ray Davis, Lola Marie Smith, Rena Elizabeth Hall and Ruth Chapman Bennett.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. A graveside service will be at 1pm on Thursday, August 11 th at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3425 Green Valley Road, Ijamsville, Maryland. Pastor Jerry Price of the International Community Church will officiate.
