Ethel Elizabeth Hildebrand

Ethel Elizabeth Hildebrand, 87, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of 46 years to the late Raymond E. Hildebrand Jr.

Born on February 17, 1929, in Woodboro, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Marie (Sprague) Beard. Ethel grew up on her family farm. She went on to work at Sagner’s Sewing Factory before returning home to be a homemaker and worked part-time cleaning homes in Mount Airy. Ethel loved the outdoors and spent as much time there as possible, taking care of the gardens and the animals. Ethel was always helping others and truly enjoyed the time she spent with her family. Ethel also enjoyed duck pin bowling at the Walkersville Bowling Alley and at Village Lanes.

Ethel is survived by two children, Joyce Hildebrand Price and husband John of Frederick and Ronald Eugene Hildebrand; granddaughter, Crystal Naff, husband Keith and children Chase and Caitlyn; her sister, Betty Snook; brothers, Garland Beard, Glenn Beard and Larry Beard; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her dedicated and beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Sophia. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings.

The family will receive friends from 7-9pm on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, August 26 th at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
