Joann Krantz

Mrs. Joann Krantz, 85, of Frederick, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Kenneth L. Krantz. Born on January 6, 1931 in Key West, FL, she was a daughter of the late William I. and Marion Cash Knowles.
Joann was retired after 44 years with F & M Bank and she was vice president and branch manager of the Seventh Street Shopping Center Bank. She was a member of the Centennial Memorial United Methodist Church, Frederick Business Women's Club and a member and past secretary of the Frederick Shopping Center Merchant's Association. During her stay in the nursing home she was known as Miss Hollywood. She shared with many charitable organization and was especially fond of St. Jude..
Surviving in addition to her husband is one son, Michael Todd Krantz and Gigi, of Frederick, her brother, William I. Knowles and sister, Glenda Rowland, both of FL. She will be missed by several cousins, including Donna and John Barr, of Frederick., and several nieces and nephews She will also be missed by Tracy Trite, whom she referred to as her adopted granddaughter. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends one hour prior. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P. O. Box 1000 DEPT 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
