Anna Mary Hughes

Mrs. Anna Mary Hughes, 83, of Frederick, MD, died on Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Ballenger Creek Center, Frederick, MD.  Mrs. Hughes was the wife of the late Robert P. Hughes, who preceded her in death in 2009.

Born October 25, 1932, in Brooklyn, NY. She was the daughter of the late James and Gertrude (Grogan) Kiernan.

Mrs. Hughes is survived by her three children; Robert P. Hughes and husband Edward Kelly, of Baltimore, MD, James F. Hughes and wife Beth, of Martinsburg, WV and Elizabeth H. Meehan-Legrand and husband Ronnie, of Frederick, MD four grandchildren; Katie Meehan, Timmy Meehan, Amy Hughes and Nathaniel Hughes, sister, Gertrude Murphy and husband Edward, numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:30PM to 8:30PM, on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM, on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at St. Joseph's on Carrollton Manor Catholic Church, 5843 Manor Woods Rd., Frederick, MD 21703.  Father Lawrence Frazier will officiate.  Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Frederick, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way Suite 908, Eldersburg, MD 21784.
