James Michael Schultz

James Michael “Mike” Schultz, 67, of Myersville, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He was the loving husband to Theresa Ann (Poole) Schultz.

Born on February 19, 1949, he was the son of the late James Thomas “Tom” and Louise Naomi (Putman) Schultz. Mike was a graduate of Frederick High School class of 1967. He retired from NRG, formerly Mirant, where he had worked for nearly 23 years as a maintenance mechanic. Mike was an avid reader, classic movie buff and self-proclaimed amateur philosopher. He was the kind of person who truly enjoyed helping others.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Todd Michael and wife Robin Dianne Schultz; daughter, Christina Lynn Schultz and partner Erich Daniel Heger; sister, Peggy Louise Schultz and husband John; brother, Lee Oscar Schultz and wife Mary; and grandson, Emerson Iago Schultz.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 2pm on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. A celebration of his life will begin at 2pm. Per Mike’s request, comfortable, casual attire is welcomed.
